Groundcover & ​Vines

Ajuga reptans, commonly called bugleweed, is a dense, rapidly spreading, mat-forming ground cover which features shiny, dark green leaves. Whorls of tiny, blue-violet flowers appear in mid to late spring on spikes rising above the foliage. Cultivars of this species feature leaves with more interesting and varied foliage color. When in full flower, large clumps of bugleweed can produce a striking display. Dense foliage will choke out weeds

Bearberry Massachusetts
An extremely hardy and tough groundcover requiring poor acidic sandy soil; low growing; dainty nodding shell pink bell-shaped flowers, an abundance of magnificent red berries and reasonable fall color​. It has forest green foliage.

Hedera ivy Baltica
The dark green leaves are white-veined, smaller and purplish-tinged in winter. It is a vigorous, aggressive, fast-growing, evergreen, woody perennial that is primarily grown as a climbing vine or trailing ground cover. It is noted for its adventitious juvenile stage roots which attach to most surfaces. Climbing/spreading plants will grow somewhat indefinitely in length.

Honeysuckle Vines
Twining vines with highly fragrant and colorful flowers. Excellent to cover trellis, arbors and fencing.  Attractive to hummingbirds, bees and certain butterflies.

Purple to deep pink buds open to sweetly fragrant, golden yellow, tubular flowers throughout summer. 
Honeysuckle Major Wheeler
Blazing red and gold blooms appear all summer long, and into fall. Stems are often red to purple turning greenish brown with age

Compact vine of 5’, 'Peaches and Cream' provides ample blooms. Striking clusters of deep magenta flower buds open to reveal white interiors that mature to a peachy cream.

Liriope
Commonly called lilyturf, is a tufted, grass-like perennial which typically grows 12-18" tall and features clumps of strap-like, arching, glossy, dark green leaves. Clumps slowly expand by short stolons. Erect, showy flower spikes with tiered whorls of dense, violet-purple flowers rise above the leaves in late summer. Flowers give way to blackish berries which often persist into winter

Vinca minor 
One of the most popular and widely used ground covers. Trailing stems with smooth, evergreen leaves quickly spread to form an attractive ground cover. Tubular, lavender blue, phlox-like flowers appear in spring and continue to flower intermittently throughout summer into fall. Foliage will mound up to 6" tall.

Star Showers Virginia Creeper is a dense multi-stemmed deciduous woody vine with a twining and trailing habit of growth. Star Showers Virginia Creeper has attractive white-variegated green foliage throughout the season.
