Rhododendron

Rhododendron
Rhododendrons are an evergreen shrub with big, leathery leaves and clusters of white, pink, red, or purple blooms. These shrubs are recognized for their glossy, oblanceolate leaves and large clusters of bell-shaped (or funnel) blooms that commonly feature a spotted splotch in their throat. Within the rhododendron genus, over 1000 cultivars/hybrids exist. They have been referred to as the 'king' of shrubs, often seen as the best flowering evergreen plant for the temperate landscape. Rhododendrons can be planted as a standalone specimen, as part of a mixed border or in foundation plantings.
