Pears
Pyrus

Flowering pear trees are among the iconic ornamental trees that bloom with dense clusters of white or pink flowers in spring. After flowering, the trees maintain green leaves over the summer and often feature bold colors yellow, orange, red, and purple in the fall. Although inedible to people, the small fruits produced by some varieties are attractive to wildlife. Flowering pear trees are adaptable to a variety of soil conditions, tolerate dryness and pollution, and should be pruned in late winter or early spring.
