Hydrangeas are deciduous plants native to Japan and Korea. They feature medium to extra-large blooms of small florets which range from shades of blue to purple and pink depending on soil acidity. These lovely, summer-blooming plants typically rebloom until fall. Hydrangeas prefer well-drained soil, amended with peat moss, leaf mold or compost.
