Inkberry Holly

Ilex glabra
Inkberry hollies, Latin name ilex glabra, have larger, smoother leaves and blueish black berries unlike the more traditional hollies. They are great for foundation plantings or hedges and borders. Inkberry is a dioecious holly, meaning most forms have male flowers on one plant and females on another. A male pollinator is required for berry production on a female plant. Female plants are designated by an 'f''. Inkberry can form colonies by suckering roots.
Please contact the nursery for availability each season.
